| Another warm winter so far. A warm winter that kept the water open until the nearly the third week of January. Then snow and cold weather. | |
| We weren't very brave. We walked out where we know that water was on a foot or so deep. Still, we heard cracks. We drilled a hole and quickly measured the ice thickness and dissolved oxygen, then quickly retreated. | |
