WOW, we thought the water was high last Fall!! Here's the frog pond on April 14, 2008. After a record snow fall (> 100 in) and several inches of rain in the previous week
the water had completly filled the basin where the pond typically only occupied a quarter of the area. The large lake and the pond were connected with water that was a foot
deep. In the following weeks we hope to make lots of observations; including amphibians
(chrous frog, leopard frog, the green tree frog, the american toad, tiger salamanders and painted turtles), water quality measruments (temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH, secci distance, nitrate)
and migratory birds.
