Here we are on April 11, ready for another spring field season. We hope that over the course of the spring we will observe the same amphibians that we have in the past. The chrous frog, the leopard frog, the green tree frog, the american toad, tiger salamanders and painted turtles.

low water levels spring 2003 The lake was very different from the past four springs. The level was lower than anyone could remember and the water was very murky (12 in secci distance). Unlike past years, there was no evidence of a winter fish. The lake had the oder of decay. The oxygen level was 15%. The may be a result of the short time the lake was frozen over.Click here to see pictures of snail shells we found on the shoreline
