Discovery Club welcomes the observations of community members. The more "eyes" there are at the Marsh the more we can learn. Below, we have listed the observations that we have received through our webpage. There are listed by date and appear exactly as submitted. Please submit them to observations@patrickmarsh.org.

Comments -The last two days,
I have seen several birds at the Marsh, they include: Song Sparrow, American Gold Finch, American Robin, Cardinal, Great Blue Heron,Green Heron, Cedar Waxwings, Gray Catbird, Northern Flicker, Downy Woodpecker,Eastern Kingbird, American Coot, some type of Hawk(possibly an Osprey), and a Spotted Sandpiper. I saw the majority of these birds on the hill over looking the little pond. I plan on visiting the marsh in the fall and the spring. I would love to hear from someone who has seen other birds.

Comments - Hi Patrick Marsh,
Our family built a home on Town Hall Dr. along the South shore of Patrick Marsh in 1992. In addition to the various species that you have already listed, there are two more that we have noted in our eight years here. The most special was a Red Fox. The fox was sited for about three years from 1994 through 1997. The second species was muskrat. Muskrats thrived in the marsh during the fall of 1992 and all of 1993. At their peek, we noted well over 50. However after 1993 they disapeared quickly. By 1995 we no longer found any evidence of these little creatures.

Earlier this spring, upon driving past on Hwy. 151, I saw a red fox running across the ice on the marsh. (Approximate siting - 2/14/2001 6:30 AM
