Fall 2003 Group
Here are some of Discovery Club members the first day of the 2003 fall field season. Each week we will set eighteen Sherman traps and 8 drops traps to monitor for small mammals. We will also take water quality observations of the big lake. Notice that we are standing in a large mud flat. We have had an extremely dry summer and the water level at the lake has fallen dramatically. The frog pond is completely dry.

new waderstracks in mud
New for the fall are some new waders we were able to buy with the proceeds of the dance that Discovery Club sponsored last spring. It is so cool not have go home with wet socks every week. The newly appeared mud flat have offered us a chance to see lots of animal tracts. Above you can see the raccoon and heron tracks that we saw. Click here for other interesting things we observed.
