![]() The First Signs of Spring 2001 On March 19, 2001 Discovery Club members went out looking for signs of spring. While snow was still on the ground, we did observe the crow of a ring-tailed pheasant rooster, the calls of red-winged black birds and pussy willows. Scroll down to see what we saw.

![]() The big lake is also very frozen. Last year the ice was completely off on March 6, 2000. Today it was still frozen all the way to the edge. ![]() Here is one sure sign of spring club members observed. Pussy willows! ![]() It's been a long hard winter, but club members went home knowning that spring was in the air and it won't be long before the frogs will be calling. |
