Small Mammals Results 2000

The fall field season for Discovery Club began on 9-Sep-00 and ended on 26-Oct-00. As part of small mammal monitoring, Discovery Club members placed 171 Sherman Traps, 27 Drop Traps and 13 Can Traps at seven different sites. We trapped a total of 37 animals (2.6 times more than in 1999) and increased our species list from 2 to 5 species. We also trapped the following animals:
  • short tailed shrew
  • masked screw
  • the white-footed mouse
  • meadow vole
  • house mouse
